In addition, the park district would like CVAS to conduct monthly programs at the Observatory Park during the next couple of years. Tom reported that the Geauga Park District will provide the host site (Observatory Park) for the new Geauga County IDA section. An organizational meeting will be held in January 2009.

New Business:

  2. Steve F and Ian are looking into upgrading our club’s website.
  3. At Ian’s request, we began an ongoing discussion relative to CVAS goals for 2009. Bob suggested a goal of making additional payments on the land contract if money becomes available.
  4. Our next meeting is 1/5/09 at the Rookery 7:30 pm.

Director of Observations:

Bob provided his monthly report for December, and provided copies. For Bob’s complete observation report, please visit the Monthly Sky Calendar on our website. Several members described observing sessions during the last month, but cloudy weather limited these sessions to a couple of days at the beginning of November and during the last weekend of the month.

Marty and Russ were imaging at the hill last Saturday night. Bob reported setting up at home for a good chance at an asteroid occultation a week ago, only to have clouds obscure the view at the last minute.

Ron reported that the Minor Planet Center has assigned the observatory code H75 to the Indian Hill North Observatory.

Meeting adjourned at 8:30 PM. A cloudy night prevented any viewing.
