Meeting called to order at 8:10 PM. About 11 members and 1 guest were present. .

Officer Reports

Secretary:

Minutes for the May meeting are not yet posted on the CVAS website. Hard copies are available.  

Treasurer:

Bank–Member dues were summarized. $793.42 in Bank, Petty Cash - $42.00, Electric Fund - $1,852.00 Total - $2,687.42

1. Paid phone bill

2. Paid $300 to Keith for the land. Balance is $5,700


Observatory Director:

The 12 inch Meade communication module is not workin. Marty is checking out the problem.

A July 15 work session is scheduled to complete electric phase one - start time is 8 AM. Larry will purchase all the material on July 3. Estimated cost is $1,280.

Director of Observations:

Old Business:

  1. Penitentary Glen will not be able to host weekday evening winter meetings Tom Q. advised that The Cleveland Metroparks North Chagrin Reservation, Gates Mills Library and Chagrin Falls Library are interested in hosting our meetings. Steve K. will e-mail the membership, requesting feedback if we want to stay with Pen Glen Sunday afternoon meetings or move to a weekday evening.
  2. Light Pollution - Larry is preparing for an August 8 PUCO hearing in Columbus.

New Business:

  1. Some additions to the calendar. .
  2. Larry is planning a Cherry Springs trip on July 22-23 and the Black Forest Star Party (same location) from August 25-27.
  3. Stellafane convention in Springfield Vermont is July 28-29.

Motion to adjourn at 8:45 PM. Clouds arrived during the meeting, so no observing was done.
