Bank–Member dues were summarized. $1,193.42 in Bank, Petty Cash - $92.00, Electric Fund - $1,652.00 Total - $2,937.42

Copies of the March CVAS Monthly Sky Calendar were passed around. For Bob's complete observation report, please visit the Monthly Sky Calendar on our website.

Old Business:

  • Electric Service – Requested electrical service from CEI for installation in May / June.

  • Need new mail box. The old one was knocked over apparently by the snow plow

  • Oberle scope. No activity this past month.

New Business:

Mayfield Middle School kids came in 1st and 2nd in the astronomy portion of the Science Olympiad. Thanks to Dan Guldan, Vickie Ford, and Larry Boros.

Mayfield High School kids came in fifth at the regional Science Olympiad. The Mayfield group, including all other science events, obtained 2nd place, which makes them eligible for the State tournament in Columbus on April 29th. Steve Fishman is training the 2 students.

Lighting - a. CEI has agreed to make available the cut-off version of the Salem residential street light. Still trying to resolve floodlight shield availability issue. b. The city of Mentor has formally requested Full cut-off cobra head street lighting in Mentor for all replacements and new installations. C. John Gorka is working with ODOT on freeway lighting improvements .

Asked for ideas from Lake Metro Parks and Geauga Park District on how to make some money to cover costs of land and electric service at IHO
