Electrical–Marty Niemi gave a report. The 12 inch is at Joes and is working well. We will get it back when Meade returns Joe’s 14 inch. We are still waiting for a response from Ann DiDanoto on the availability of used electrical poles and triplex. Larry Boros and Steve Modarski cut down trees to make a clear path for overhead electric wires. John Gorka did a nice job painting the observatory railings

Director of Observations:

For Bob's complete observation report, please visit the Monthly Sky Calendar on our website.

Steve passed around copies of the CVAS Monthly Sky Calendar.

Old Business:

Oberle Observatory - Another meeting was held at West Woods to discuss this project. The Park Board had received three presentations to develop this project. It still needs to be determined if the 36” cassegrain will be a good scope for public viewing. The planetarium / nature building might take the shape of an old round grain threshing barn

Formal complaint against First Energy is being reviewed by the City of Mentor

New Business:

Hidden Hollow is coming up September 30-October 1.

Some members may be going to Cherry Springs on the same weekend as Hidden Hollow

Black River OTAA on September 10.

About 12 people showed up after the meeting to observe. Skies clouded up by 10, but cleared out after 11.
