Old Business:

  1. The deed to the Indian Hill property is now in the name of CVAS..
  2. Several stumps were removed last month with the use of a stump grinder. A motion was made, seconded, and approved to reimburse Marty the cost of the rental ($115.00).

New Business:

  1. Marty would like to donate to the club the instruments currently in the dome. This includes the 6 inch Astrophysics oil spaced triplet F/8 refractor and the Vixen 104mm F/9 doublet refractor used as a guide scope.  Additional items include an AP diagonal, a focal reducer, numerous TeleVue eyepieces, a KAF1600 based liquid cooled CCD camera with a six position filter wheel, and a SBIG ST-237 CCD camera with a color filter wheel.  The AP scope is on a Losmandy G-11 mount with the upgraded low PE worm gear. The value of the equipment is $9,000.00.

MOTION: A motion was made to accept this generous offer from Marty. The motion was seconded, and unanimously approved.

The Losmandy G-11 GEM was recently upgraded with the Gemini system and new servo motors. The upgrade was necessary to allow for easy and accurate telescope control using the hand paddle or computer software. With the upgrade to the mount, the setup is easy to use and particularly suitable for visual observing. Marty obtained and installed the upgrade, and Russ has offered to head up fund raising activities to generate the necessary money to reimburse Marty. The cost of the upgrade is $1,600.00.

MOTION: A motion was made to generate funds through special fund raising activities and to reimburse Marty the cost of the Gemini upgrade. The motion was seconded, and unanimously approved
